Joan Priddy-Southern

Joan Priddy-Southern, MSN, AGNP-C, is a graduate of The University of NC at Greensboro with a certification as an Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner.

Prior to becoming an NP, she worked as an RN at The Pain Control Center at Wake Forest University, Anesthesia Department, with Dr. Richard Rauck, coordinating and then directing the research team in pain management studies.

After leaving The Pain Control Center at Wake Forest, she joined Dr. Richard Rauck as he founded The Center for Clinical Research (CCR) in Winston-Salem. Joan was instrumental in the startup and operational development of The Center for Clinical Research in January 2000. She remained the Clinical Director for The Center for Clinical Research even as she pursued her master's degree in nursing.

In 2011, she shifted her focus to the clinical aspect of research as a Nurse Practitioner and stepped away from management. She has been involved as a PI/Sub-I Clinical Investigator with The Center for Clinical Research since that time. This represents more than 30 years of involvement in research, including Phase I–IV clinical trials for many types of medications (oral, intrathecal, and IV) as well as device trials.

Currently, she has expanded her practice to include primary care, serving as an AGNP-C at NewHope Medical Group.
